– He has suggested an alternative methodology to calculate the inflation rate
Chaksu (Jaipur), December 16 : Jagan Nath University has notified and issued the provisional certificate of the award of the PhD degree in Management to Dr Mayank Goel s/o Prof. Madan Mohan Goel on the topic “ Measurement of Inflation in India: A Study of Middle Income Group of Delhi NCR” under the supervision of Prof. Kapil Khattar.
According to Dr Mayank Goel Inflation in India is a well-known location-specific economic problem with social implications for various categories of consumers’ most notably the middle class. On the basis of his empirical study, Dr Mayank Goel has suggested an alternative methodology to calculate the inflation rate by comparing with the previous month ( not point-to-point basis methodology giving every month data on inflation which is an annual rate of inflation and not monthly data) with an updated basket of goods.
Dr Mayank Goel is a corporate banker as a financial technocrat with Kotak Mahindra Bank. His father Prof Madan Mohan Goel is the former Vice Chancellor of Jagannath University and is known as the founder of Needonomics School of Thought.
