“As Home Minister, I Formed Two SITs to Crack Down on Human Traffickers” – Vij
Recalling his tenure as Home Minister, Sh.Vij stated, “I formed two Special Investigation Teams (SITs) to take strict action against human traffickers. The first SIT was led by IPS officer Bharti Arora, which arrested nearly 600 traffickers. Later, another SIT was formed under IPS officer Shivas Kaviraj, which led to the arrest of approximately 750 more traffickers.”
“People Sell Their Land, Farms and Houses to Send Their Children Abroad” – Vij
He emphasized the urgent need for this bill, highlighting that currently, there are no regulations, and anyone can start working as a travel agent without oversight. He added that “Districts like Ambala, Kurukshetra, Kaithal and Karnal are the most affected. People sell their land, farms, and houses to send their children abroad. These young people are smuggled through forests, seas, and the dangerous ‘Donkey Route,’ crossing walls illegally into foreign countries.”
“We Must Crack Down on Human Trafficking” – Vij
Sh.Vij emphasized that it is essential to establish strict rules and laws against human trafficking. “Earlier, we introduced a similar law, but objections were raised. Now, we have addressed those objections and are reintroducing the bill. Recently, we saw how the United States deported illegal immigrants back to India in dire conditions. Should we not take action against such practices? Should we not regulate this? Should we not create strict laws to curb human trafficking?” he questioned.
