Chandigarh /New Delhi : To accelerate industrial development in Haryana, Industrial Manufacturing Cluster (IMC) will be set up on about 3 thousand acres near Maharaja Agrasen Airport in Hisar. It will cost about Rs 4680 crore. This IMC will be developed in collaboration with the Haryana Government and National Industrial Corridor Development Corporation (NICDC).
This information was given in an important meeting chaired by Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini here today. Civil Aviation Minister Vipul Goyal was also present in the meeting.
In the meeting, the Chief Minister was informed that to accelerate the development in the manufacturing sector across the country and to ensure systematic and planned urbanization, the Government of India is developing integrated industrial corridors based on multi-modal connectivity in partnership with the state governments. Under the Amritsar-Kolkata Industrial Corridor, industrial townships will be set up in a total of 6 cities in 7 states, in which the IMC to be set up in Hisar is the biggest project, which will be developed in about 3 thousand acres. This IMC will be developed in two phases.
It was told in the meeting that with the development of this project, an investment of about Rs 32 thousand crore is expected and more than 10 thousand employment opportunities will be created. All types of basic and modern facilities including road, water treatment plant, solid waste management plant (STP) will be available in IMC. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) will soon be signed between NICDC and the Haryana Government for the implementation of this project.
Industries in IMC will get huge benefit due to the presence of Maharaja Agrasen Airport
The Chief Minister directed the concerned officials to complete the formal procedures soon. He said that this IMC will attract investment from India as well as foreign companies. He said that out of the 7200 acres identified in Hisar, Maharaja Agrasen Airport is in about 4212 acres and IMC will be set up in about 2988 acres. Industries will get a huge benefit due to the proximity to the airport.
Haryana will get big benefit from two industrial corridors
It was told in the meeting that under the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor being developed by NICDC, an integrated multi-modal logistics hub will also be built on about 886 acres in Nangal Chaudhary, Haryana. Thus, Haryana is going to get a big benefit of two industrial corridors, which will increase investment as well as employment opportunities in the state.
The Chief Minister said that under the vision of developed India, development of industries is very important to make Haryana developed. To promote industries, the state government has resolved to set up 10 IMTs in the state. The concerned officers have been instructed to work in this direction.
Chief Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, Mr. Rajesh Khullar, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, Mr. Arun Kumar Gupta, Additional Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, Dr. Saket Kumar, Principal Secretary, Civil Aviation Department, Mr. Shyamal Mishra, Managing Director and CEO, NICDC, Mr. Rajat Kumar Saini and other senior officers were present in the meeting.
