New Delhi : Leader of the Upper House Rajya Sabha and Union Health Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda (J.P. Nadda) launched a sharp attack on Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi over the issue of examination paper leaks, accusing the Congress leader of adopting a selective approach and attempting to derive political mileage from students’ concerns instead of seeking lasting solutions.

Addressing a press conference, Nadda referred to Rahul Gandhi’s presentation in Parliament, in which the Congress leader cited around 150 incidents of paper leaks. Nadda said that while the allegations raised by Rahul Gandhi are matters of investigation and the government will respond after due inquiry, the Opposition has deliberately ignored similar incidents that occurred in states governed by the Congress and its allies.

Union Health Minister alleged that paper leak cases have also surfaced in several Opposition-ruled states. He cited the Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board examination, where he said the leak occurred under the Congress-National Conference government. He also referred to the Himachal Pradesh School Education Board paper leak under the Congress government, the Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC) Hindi and Science examination paper leak under the Congress-Jharkhand Mukti Morcha government, and the Intermediate Language Examination and SSC Language Examination paper leak cases in Telangana, where the Congress government is supported by the CPI.

Nadda further mentioned that Tamil Nadu had also witnessed a B.Ed. examination paper leak, arguing that these incidents demonstrate that the issue is not confined to any one government or state. He described these as only a few examples, claiming that the list of such incidents is much longer.

Questioning Rahul Gandhi’s stand, the BJP Senior Leader asked why the Congress leader did not discuss paper leak incidents that took place during the UPA government or in states governed by the INDIA alliance. He alleged that Rahul Gandhi had separated these incidents from his presentation to create a political narrative against the Central Government.

According to Nadda, Rahul Gandhi’s objective is not to improve the quality of education or secure justice for students, but rather to use students’ issues for political gain. He said such an approach is unfortunate and does not serve the interests of the country’s youth.

Calling for a constructive approach, Nadda urged all political parties to move beyond the blame game and hold a comprehensive discussion on the issue inside Parliament, which he described as the most appropriate democratic forum for debate. He said the BJP-led NDA government is fully prepared for an in-depth discussion on examination reforms, paper leak cases, and measures to ensure justice for students.

Emphasizing the Modi government’s commitment to the education sector, Nadda said the Centre is serious about protecting the future of students and ensuring that no injustice is done to them. He added that children and youth are the future of the nation, and the government remains committed to strengthening the examination system and safeguarding their interests.
