New Delhi: Delhi Lieutenant Governor Taranjit Singh Sandhu attended the final of the Delhi Premier League (DPL) and appreciated the energy, talent and competitive spirit displayed by the young cricketers.
Sandhu said the league has emerged as an important platform for nurturing home-grown cricketing talent in Delhi, providing promising players with opportunities to showcase their abilities, gain competitive experience and build a pathway towards higher levels of the sport.
He congratulated the Delhi & District Cricket Association (DDCA) for successfully organising the league and for its efforts to further strengthen Delhi’s cricketing ecosystem.
The Lieutenant Governor also encouraged the DDCA to expand similar sporting initiatives and activities to different parts of Delhi, so that more young athletes can access opportunities to participate, compete and develop their sporting potential.
He emphasised the importance of creating wider platforms for young players, particularly at the grassroots level, to help identify and nurture emerging sporting talent across the national capital.
Sandhu extended his best wishes to all the young cricketers and expressed hope that they would continue to work hard and achieve greater success in their sporting careers.
The DPL final highlighted the growing opportunities for Delhi’s young cricketing talent, while underlining the importance of grassroots sporting platforms in building a stronger and more inclusive sports ecosystem.
