New Delhi : Prime Minister Narendra Modi, along with BRICS leaders including Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin, visited the “Bharat Innovates” exposition at Bharat Mandapam on September 12, highlighting India’s growing strength in deep-tech innovation, technology, and entrepreneurship.
The two-day exposition, organised by the Union Ministry of Education in coordination with the Ministry of External Affairs, is showcasing 37 Indian deep-tech startups drawn from an original cohort of 120 ventures that took part in the first Bharat Innovates edition held in Nice. It is being held as a lead-up to and alongside the 18th BRICS Summit, held on September 12–13 under India’s BRICS chairship, with the theme “Building for Resilience, Innovation, Cooperation and Sustainability.”
The event gave founders of Indian deep-tech startups a platform to showcase their products and interact directly with BRICS leaders, who commended their technology-driven approach to addressing global challenges. Sharing pictures from the visit on X, PM Modi said, “Innovation from India. Solutions for the world!… Proud of the energy and dedication of our youth.” IANS News
For participating startups, the exposition offers a high-profile platform to convert domestic innovation into international commercial and diplomatic outcomes — including direct access to BRICS CEOs and investors, head-of-state visibility, and structured B2B matchmaking facilitated with industry bodies like FICCI, CII and ASSOCHAM.
