New Delhi : The Monsoon Session of Parliament witnessed fresh political confrontation today as Members of Parliament from the INDIA bloc staged protests at Makar Dwar inside the Parliament premises over issues related to the education sector and the ongoing examination controversy.
Leaders of the Opposition alleged that Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has failed millions of students and asserted that he should no longer continue in office. The Opposition said it remains united in demanding his removal from the Union Cabinet and has also sought greater accountability from the Narendra Modi-led government over the handling of examination-related issues.
Congress General Secretary and MP K C Venugopal also targeted the Prime Minister’s recent remarks on the issue, dismissing them as “false claims.” He alleged that the government has failed to take meaningful action despite repeated concerns raised by students and the Opposition.
K C Venugopal claimed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has lost credibility on the issue, saying that people no longer believe his assurances. According to him, the government must first demonstrate accountability by removing Dharmendra Pradhan as Union Education Minister before making any outreach to students.
The Congress leader maintained that students across the country are demanding accountability and justice, and argued that confidence in the education system cannot be restored through announcements alone. He reiterated that the government must take concrete action against those responsible for the examination crisis and address the concerns raised by students.
The Opposition has vowed to continue raising the issue both inside and outside Parliament, making it one of the key flashpoints of the ongoing Monsoon Session.
