New Delhi : During the Monsoon Session of Parliament, Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent post on X regarding measures to tackle paper leak cases, saying the government’s response does not address the core concerns raised by students.

Drawing an analogy, Priyanka Gandhi said, “It is like a child telling his father that he wants to become a designer, and the father replying that he has secured admission for him in an engineering college.” She argued that the government’s response was disconnected from what students are actually demanding.

According to the Congress leader, this is a moment for leadership, and the government should first listen to the voices of students before announcing solutions. She said the students’ demands are straightforward and include the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, strict action against those who allegedly assaulted protesting students, and the fulfilment of their other demands.

Priyanka Gandhi further stated that students have lost confidence in the existing examination system due to repeated controversies. She argued that merely introducing new measures without addressing the issues raised by students would not restore their trust.

Emphasizing that trust can only be rebuilt through accountability, she said that every parent understands the importance of listening to a child’s concerns before offering a solution, and the government should adopt the same approach while dealing with the examination crisis.

The remarks came amid the ongoing political debate over examination-related issues, with the Opposition pressing the government to accept responsibility and respond to the concerns being raised by students across the country.
