Gurugram : Preparations for the Civil Services Preliminary Examination 2026, to be conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) on May 24, were reviewed during a high-level meeting held at the Mini Secretariat in Gurugram under the chairmanship of ADC Sonu Bhatt.

The meeting was attended by officials from the Education Department, including DEO Indu Bokan, along with Centre Supervisors, Duty Magistrates, Local Inspecting Officers (LIOs), Transit Officers, representatives from the Police and Health Departments, and other concerned officials.

During the meeting, ADC Sonu Bhatt informed that 52 examination centres have been set up across the district for the examination, in which around 20,076 candidates are expected to appear. The examination will be conducted in two shifts — the first from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM and the second from 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM.

The ADC directed officials to ensure the smooth, fair, and transparent conduct of the examination and warned that any negligence in examination duties would be taken seriously. He stated that strict action under provisions related to criminal negligence would be initiated against any official found responsible for irregularities.

He instructed authorities to ensure all necessary facilities at examination centres, including drinking water, electricity supply, restroom facilities, proper seating arrangements, wall clocks, and uninterrupted internet connectivity.

Highlighting the implementation of face authentication for this year’s examination, Sonu Bhatt said stable Wi-Fi connectivity would be mandatory at every centre. He directed all invigilators associated with the face authentication process to undergo technical training to avoid any inconvenience during the examination.

In view of the prevailing heatwave conditions, special arrangements have also been ordered at all examination centres. Officials were instructed to ensure the availability of clean drinking water, disposable glasses, shaded waiting areas, and medical support for candidates. The Health Department has been directed to keep ambulances and medical teams on standby to provide immediate assistance in case of emergencies.

The ADC emphasized the importance of punctuality, inter-departmental coordination, and maintaining complete transparency during the examination process. He stated that preserving the credibility and integrity of the UPSC examination remains the administration’s highest priority.
