Gurugram : The Progressive Federation of Trade and Industry (PFTI) organized a grand, impactful, and informative industry awareness program on the theme “Labor Law Reforms 2026.” The event was held at Signature Global, Tonino Lamborghini Residences, Sector-71, Gurugram, and witnessed enthusiastic participation from a large number of industrialists, business owners, Chief Executive Officers (CEOs), Managing Directors (MDs), HR professionals, and representatives from various industrial units across Gurugram and the NCR region.
The objective of the program was to sensitize the industrial sector regarding new labor laws, labor codes, provisions related to employee welfare, and statutory compliances, thereby enabling industries to better prepare themselves for the evolving legal and industrial landscape.
The program commenced with a welcome address by PFTI Chairman Deepak Maini, Vice Chairman Dr. S.P. Agarwal, and Director Dr. Anshul Dhingra, who extended a warm welcome to the chief guests and the attending industry representatives. In their welcome address, they emphasized that, in the current scenario, accurate knowledge of labor laws and their timely compliance have become absolutely essential for industries. They further stated that the new labor reforms represent a significant step towards making industries more transparent, organized, and worker-friendly. PFTI pledged to continue organizing such impactful programs in the future to safeguard industrial interests and promote awareness.
The event featured a distinguished panel of key speakers, including Regional Provident Fund Commissioner Nilendu Mishra, Additional Labor Commissioner (NCR) Kushal Kataria, Deputy Director of the Health and Safety Department Ashok Nain, and Assistant Director Deepak Malik. All the experts provided detailed insights to the industry representatives regarding the new labor laws, the Employees’ Provident Fund (EPF), Employees’ State Insurance (ESI), worker welfare schemes, digital compliance systems, and the practical challenges faced by industries.
In his address, remarked, “An increase in productivity and industrial growth is possible only through industrial peace and a conducive environment.” He further asserted that a healthy industrial atmosphere can be fostered solely through better coordination, open dialogue, and a balanced approach to legal compliance between industries and their employees. Meanwhile, Regional Provident Fund Commissioner Nilendu Mishra stated, “Industrial peace and development can only be achieved through adherence to regulations.”
He appealed to industries to comply with all statutory provisions concerning workers’ interests with utmost seriousness and transparency, thereby bolstering employee confidence and enhancing industrial efficiency.
In their addresses, experts noted that the new labor codes would play a pivotal role in establishing a better balance between industries and employees. They advised industries to ensure timely statutory compliance, strengthen record-keeping systems, and strictly adhere to provisions related to employees’ rights and safety.
During the special expert sessions held as part of the program, detailed discussions were conducted regarding provisions, new schemes, and compliance procedures related to Employees’ State Insurance (ESI) and Employees’ Provident Fund (EPF). Industry representatives were also provided with crucial guidance on practical compliance matters. During the Q&A and interactive sessions, entrepreneurs freely raised questions on various topics—including labor laws, ESI, EPF, inspection mechanisms, overtime regulations, maintenance of registers, and workers’ welfare—all of which were comprehensively addressed by the experts.
The industry representatives present at the event described the program as highly useful, practical, and informative, observing that such initiatives play a vital role not only in fostering legal awareness within the industrial sector but also in establishing better coordination between the administration and the industry fraternity.
