New Delhi: A group of 34 officers and diplomats from Nepal’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs visited the Embassy of Nepal in New Delhi on Thursday as part of their ongoing diplomatic training programme in India.
According to information shared by the official X account of the Embassy of Nepal in New Delhi, the delegation interacted with Chargé d’Affaires Dr. Surendra Thapa and other officials of the Embassy during the visit.
The officers were briefed on the role and functions of the Embassy, its contribution to strengthening Nepal–India bilateral relations, and the various consular and citizen services provided by the Mission to Nepali nationals residing in or visiting India.
The interaction provided the participants with insights into the Embassy’s diplomatic responsibilities, its engagement with the Government of India, and its efforts to promote cooperation between the two neighbouring countries across diverse sectors.
The visiting officers are currently in New Delhi to participate in a 10-day training programme organised by the Sushma Swaraj Institute of Foreign Service (SSIFS) under India’s Ministry of External Affairs.
The visit to the Embassy formed part of the practical exposure component of the training programme, enabling the participants to gain first-hand understanding of diplomatic functioning and India’s engagement with Nepal.
The initiative reflects the close and longstanding partnership between India and Nepal, particularly in the areas of diplomatic training, capacity building, and institutional cooperation, which continue to strengthen the people-to-people and government-to-government ties between the two countries.
