US Ambassador Sergio Gor Meets Bangladesh Prime Minister, Discusses Strengthening Economic Cooperation

Dhaka: Sergio Gor, the United States Ambassador to India and Special Envoy to South and Central Asia, met Bangladesh Prime Minister Tareque Rahman to discuss ways to deepen bilateral cooperation and expand economic engagement between the two countries.

Sharing details of the meeting, Sergio Gor said he called on the Prime Minister to explore the significant opportunities available for strengthening the United States–Bangladesh partnership, with a particular focus on enhancing economic cooperation.

He stated that both sides discussed avenues to deepen collaboration across areas of mutual interest and reaffirmed their commitment to advancing bilateral ties.

“There are great opportunities between the United States and Bangladesh to strengthen economic cooperation and enhance our partnership,” Gor said.

He described stronger engagement with Bangladesh as a priority for the United States, expressing confidence that both countries could achieve meaningful outcomes by working together.

“This is a priority for the United States, and working together we can achieve real results,” he added.

The meeting reflects the continued engagement between Washington and Dhaka as both sides seek to expand cooperation in trade, investment, and other sectors of mutual interest while further strengthening their bilateral partnership.
