Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi Arrives in New Delhi on Three-Day India Visit

New Delhi : Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi arrived in New Delhi on Wednesday evening on a three-day official visit to India, marking her first visit to the country since assuming office. The visit is expected to provide fresh momentum to the India-Japan Special Strategic and Global Partnership.

Prime Minister Takaichi was received at Palam Technical Airport by Dr. Jitendra Singh, Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Science and Technology and Earth Sciences, and Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office, Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), Department of Atomic Energy, and Department of Space.

Welcoming the Japanese Prime Minister on behalf of the Government of India, Dr. Jitendra Singh said it was a privilege to receive Her Excellency Sanae Takaichi on her maiden official visit to India as Prime Minister. He noted that the visit assumes added significance against the backdrop of the steadily expanding strategic partnership between the two nations.

During her stay, Prime Minister Takaichi is scheduled to participate in the 15th India–Japan Annual Summit, where she will hold bilateral talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The discussions are expected to focus on strengthening cooperation in areas such as trade, investment, technology, connectivity, security and other key sectors of mutual interest.

The visit is being seen as an important step towards further deepening the longstanding partnership between India and Japan and advancing cooperation across strategic, economic and regional priorities.
