New Delhi : The second batch of the training programme for newly recruited officers of the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) began on April 6, 2026, at Gujarat National Law University (GNLU) in Gandhinagar. This programme is part of the induction training for Enforcement Officers and Accounts Officers (EO/AO) of the 2025 batch.

The programme was inaugurated by Kumar Rohit, Director of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya National Academy of Social Security (PDUNASS). Several senior officials and faculty members from GNLU were also present.

Speaking at the event, Kumar Rohit highlighted the importance of strong legal knowledge and sensitivity in carrying out duties. He encouraged the officers to contribute to improving governance and support national goals like ease of living and ease of doing business.

Experts from GNLU stressed the importance of understanding constitutional values and legal principles for public service. They assured that the training would provide practical and in-depth legal knowledge useful for the officers’ future roles.

The training covers key topics such as social security laws, compliance, enforcement, and the Employees’ Provident Funds and Miscellaneous Provisions Act, 1952.

Officials also noted that the role of Enforcement Officers is changing—from strict regulation to a more supportive and citizen-friendly approach. Officers are expected to ensure compliance while also helping people and organisations understand the law.

Around 262 officers selected through the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) are part of this five-phase training programme. The training is designed to build legal, administrative, financial, and technical skills, along with practical field experience.

PDUNASS, the training arm of EPFO under the Ministry of Labour and Employment, aims to develop skilled and future-ready public servants in the field of social security.
