New Delhi : Israel has reportedly carried out a major strike targeting one of Iran’s largest petrochemical facilities, according to Israeli Defence Minister Yoav Gallant.

The attack is said to have targeted the South Pars Gas Field located in Assaluyeh, a critical hub for Iran’s petrochemical production. The facility is estimated to account for nearly 50% of the country’s total petrochemical output.

Reports indicate that another major petrochemical site had also been struck earlier, raising concerns about cumulative damage to Iran’s energy infrastructure.

If confirmed, these attacks could significantly impact Iran’s energy sector and export capacity, potentially escalating tensions in the region.

However, there has been no official confirmation from Iranian authorities regarding the extent of the damage so far.
