Haryana Saraswati Heritage Board and Gurugram University Sign MoU for Research

Gurugram : An important MoU (cooperation agreement) was signed between Haryana Saraswati Heritage Board and Gurugram University on Monday at the Board office in Panchkula. Vice Chancellor Prof. Sanjay Kaushik, Head of Media Studies Department Prof. Rakesh Kumar Yogi, Prof. Meenakshi Sheoran were present on behalf of Gurugram University, while Vice President Dhuman Singh Kirmach, Chief Executive Officer Kumar Supraveen and Dr. Deepa were present in the program on behalf of the Board.

Board Vice President Dhuman Singh Kirmach said that this MoU is an important step towards reaching the efforts being made for the reflow of Saraswati river to the public, as well as connecting its historical, cultural and scientific importance with academic discourse. On this occasion, Vice Chancellor Prof. Sanjay Kaushik said that Saraswati is not just a river, but has been the mainstream of Indian civilization and economy. He said that the university is proud to be a partner in this mission.

In the program, the Vice Chairman of the Board, Dhuman Singh Kirmach, explained through a detailed presentation how the flow of the Saraswati river is being revived and its benefits are reaching the common people. The CEO of the Board and senior IAS officer Kumar Supraveen said that ‘Saraswati Library’ will be established in Gurugram University with the support of the board, which will encourage curriculum development and research on topics related to the Saraswati river.

Chairman of the Department of Media Studies, Prof. Rakesh Yogi said that documentaries, short films, newsletters and other media products based on the historical, scientific and technical aspects of the Saraswati river will be produced by the students. Dhuman Singh Kirmach thanked the Vice Chancellor of the University and the entire team and said that in this period of environmental and water crisis, the cooperation of the university will further strengthen the capacity of the board.
