A big step towards clean and green cities
- In the inaugural session, experts and representatives of industrial institutions from across the country brainstormed on making Gurugram an environmentally friendly city
- The focus will be on the combination of policy and technology on the second day of the session
Gurugram : The fourth edition of India Circular Economy Forum was launched in Gurugram on Wednesday with the aim of taking the country towards a clean, green (environmentally friendly) and reuse-based economy. The fourth session of the edition was inaugurated at the Radisson Hotel in collaboration with the Haryana Urban Development Authority and under the aegis of the International Circular Economy Council (ICCE).
Policy experts from India and abroad, senior representatives of the industry participated in the program. ICCE Managing Director Shalini Goyal Bhalla, Re-Sustainability Limited MD Masood Malik, Puneet Anand from Hyundai Motors India Limited, President of Food Trade Federation of India Sanjay Khajuria and other prominent people were present in the inaugural session.
ICCE Managing Director Shalini Goyal Bhalla, while addressing the inaugural session, said that Gurugram is not only a millennium city but is also the lifeline of Haryana. In such a situation, it is necessary for all of us that Gurugram city and industry together adopt clean and sustainable development. Gurugram and other such cities will have to move together towards a clean and sustainable future. Together with all departments, institutions and citizens, we can take strong steps in this direction.
On the first day of the session, Sanjay Khajuria said that the cities of the state will have to become an example for others by using the resources properly. For this, the government, industry and the general public will have to work together. Re-Sustainability head Masood Malik said that circular economy is not a fashion, but the need of the country. A platform like India Circular Economy Forum is leading the way with this change in the country.

On the first day of the inaugural session, decisive discussions were held on clean and environmentally friendly traffic system, proper use of e-waste and old electronics, training related to circular economy for youth, reuse of old construction material (debris). During this, many masterclasses and sessions related to industries were also held in which it was told how reuse and environmental thinking can be included in business.

In the session on the second day of the two-day edition, officials from NITI Aayog, MSME, Ministry of Urban Affairs and Haryana Government will share their views. In which meaningful discussions will be held on reduction of waste from agriculture and food, easy and local ways of waste management in cities, planning of environmentally friendly cities, renewable energy, CSR and changes in the textile industry etc.
