New Delhi :   Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri said that Pakistan has taken provocative, escalatory and cowardly actions. He said that Pakistan targeted Indian cities and civilian infrastructure and some military bases. Indian military units gave a befitting reply to them.

Foreign Secretary and two Army Officials were addressing a Joint press briefing about Operation Sindoor.  He further said that Pakistan’s claim that they did not attack any religious place is a sign of its hypocrisy. Whereas the reality is that they attacked the Gurudwara in Poonch. Instead of taking responsibility for these attacks, Pakistan is saying that the Indian Army is doing this. He said that some Sikhs died due to the firing of the Pakistani Army. Targeting religious places is the lowest performance of Pakistan.

The Foreign Secretary said that Pakistan is saying that we have carried out a drone attack on Nankana Sahib. Pakistan is trying to give a religious color to this matter by spreading false news. This is the nature of Pakistan which was seen in the Pahalgam terrorist attack itself.

He revealed that some Sikh members have also died in the attack on the Gurudwara. Pakistan is saying that we are attacking our own cities, this is just imagination.

On being asked about the Kartarpur Corridor, the Foreign Secretary said that in view of the present situation, it has been postponed till further orders for security reasons.

On being asked about the Pakistani attack on another religious place, Vikram Misri said that the church has been damaged heavily where two students have also died. He said that this is the ugly face of Pakistan.

On being asked about Pakistan’s bail out case and the Indus Agreement, the Foreign Secretary said that the agreement is postponed and there is an IMF meeting today on the economic issue in which the Indian representative will put forth his views.

Regarding the conversation between India’s Foreign Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar and the US Foreign Minister, he said that there was a discussion about the Pahalgam terrorist attack and India reiterated that it would take necessary steps for its security. On being asked by the journalist, he said that the US Minister reiterated his commitment to support India in the fight against terrorism.

He said that Foreign Minister Jaishankar also spoke to UK Foreign Minister David Lemon today, while the current situation was also discussed with the Norwegian Foreign Minister.

On the question of the murder of a foreign journalist Daniel Powell, the Foreign Secretary said that Azhar Masood, the head of the terrorist organization Jaish Mohammad based in Bahabalpur, was involved in his murder.
