-CPAS Gurugram Under MDU Rohtak Organized National Moot Court Competition 2025 

Gurugram : Moot Court is a legal laboratory which is the best platform to provide practical experience to students, where they can improve their arguments, language and presentation while understanding the judicial process. This view was expressed by Additional District and Sessions Judge Gurugram , Sunil Chauhan, as the Chief Guest at the closing ceremony of the 3rd National Moot Court Competition 2025 organized by the Center for Professional and Allied Studies (CPAS), Gurugram, Maharishi Dayanand University.

He said that such events make students more aware, sensitive and responsible towards the judiciary. Guest of honour Prof. Vageshwari Deswal, Delhi University, in her inspirational address, highlighted the changing nature of legal education in India and said that today there is a need to include experiential learning, moral education and multidisciplinary approach in law education. She described activities like moot court as an integral part of legal education, which prepares students for practical challenges. Simar Pal, Senior Advocate, Supreme Court, provided the students with real-life experiences of the legal world and made them understand the importance of clarity, preparation and professional commitment.

Ahlawat, Director, MDU CPAS welcomed all the judges and apprised them of the development journey of the institute. Prof. Ahlawat informed that on the second day of the competition, semi-final and final rounds were held in which four teams selected from across the country participated. The final match was held between MDU Rohtak and Delhi Metropolitan Law School in which both the teams presented impressive arguments and legal analysis.

The team of MDU Rohtak performed best and won the title of the competition, while DME Law School was the runner-up. On this occasion, the Best Speaker award was given to the participant Mehak Thakar of Parul University, Gujarat, Best Memorial Award was given to the team of Bennett University, Noida. In this competition, cash prize of more than ₹ 60,000 was given to the winning students. Prof. Pradeep K. Ahlawat congratulated all the participating teams and praised the winning team for their hard work and dedication. He praised the contribution of the Moot Court Society, professors and students and thanked everyone for making the competition a success. Along with this, he specially thanked the Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Rajbir Singh, under whose guidance and cooperation this event was successfully completed.

Teachers, students and researchers of the institute were present on this occasion.
