New Delhi : The centuries-old spiritual and cultural connection between India and South Korea received a new recognition as Ambassador of India to the Republic of Korea, Shri Amit Kumar Dass (@dasspake) participated in the Enshrinement Ceremony of the statue of Venerable Jigong (Dhyānabhadra) in Seoul.
Venerable Jigong, the revered 14th-century Indian Buddhist master, played an important role in spreading Buddhist teachings in Korea and strengthening the spiritual ties between the two civilisations.
The ceremony was organised through the cooperation of key Buddhist organisations, including the Jogye Order, the International Buddhist Confederation (IBC) and the International Center for Cultural Studies (ICCS), in collaboration with the Embassy of India in Seoul.
The event highlighted the deep-rooted India-Korea Buddhist partnership and reaffirmed the shared civilisational heritage, cultural bonds and enduring spiritual links between the two nations.
The installation of Venerable Jigong’s statue stands as a symbol of friendship, mutual respect and the historical connection between Indian and Korean traditions.
