Delhi CM Rekha Gupta Unveils ‘Mayur’ as Official Mascot for Commonwealth Table Tennis Championships 2026

New Delhi : Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta unveiled ‘Mayur’, the official mascot of the 22nd Commonwealth Table Tennis Championships 2026, marking an important milestone ahead of the prestigious sporting event.

Inspired by India’s national bird, the peacock, the mascot represents the country’s rich cultural heritage, vibrant identity and the spirit of excellence as India prepares to welcome athletes from across the Commonwealth.

The championship will bring together players, officials and delegates from more than 25 Commonwealth nations at the Thyagaraj Stadium, New Delhi, from 27 July to 2 August 2026.

The event is expected to showcase world-class table tennis talent while strengthening the bonds of friendship and cooperation among Commonwealth countries.

With the unveiling of ‘Mayur’, Delhi has reaffirmed its readiness to host an international sporting spectacle and present India’s capital as a symbol of warm hospitality, organisational excellence and sporting enthusiasm on the global stage.
