Gurugram : Union Minister of State for Law and Justice Arjun Ram Meghwal said the inauguration of the Tower of Justice in Gurugram represents far more than the opening of a new judicial building, calling it a significant milestone in the country’s ongoing efforts to build a justice delivery system that is accessible, efficient and centred on the needs of citizens.
Addressing the gathering during the inauguration ceremony, the Minister said the state-of-the-art judicial complex stands as an excellent example of modern judicial infrastructure and reflects the close coordination between the executive and the judiciary in strengthening India’s legal institutions.
Highlighting Gurugram’s historical and cultural significance, Meghwal said the city, known for its association with Guru Dronacharya, the revered Mata Sheetla shrine and the traditions of the Mahabharata, is now establishing a new identity through the creation of world-class judicial infrastructure. He said the development of the Tower of Justice adds another important chapter to the city’s evolving legacy.
Referring to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of “Reform, Perform and Transform,” the Minister said that a modern, transparent and robust judicial system is indispensable for achieving the goal of a Viksit Bharat. He emphasised that strengthening judicial infrastructure is essential to ensuring timely and effective delivery of justice while supporting India’s broader developmental aspirations.
Arjun Ram Meghwal said the Central Government has been consistently working to upgrade the infrastructure of subordinate courts as part of its wider judicial reform agenda. He noted that technology-driven initiatives such as e-Courts, e-Filing, e-Prosecution, e-Prisons, e-Forensics, e-Seva Kendras, digital payment systems and the National Judicial Digital Systems are transforming the justice delivery mechanism by making it more transparent, secure and efficient.
These digital reforms, he said, are simplifying court procedures, reducing delays and improving access to justice for citizens across the country.
Expressing confidence in the project’s long-term impact, the Minister said the Tower of Justice will emerge as a powerful symbol of a modern, inclusive and technology-enabled judicial system, while reinforcing India’s commitment to building a developed, just and citizen-centric nation.
