Kuwait Issues Nuclear Safety Advisory, Urges Residents to Stay Indoors

New Delhi : Kuwait has issued precautionary nuclear safety guidelines, advising citizens and residents to remain indoors and keep windows tightly sealed in the unlikely event of a radiation leak amid evolving regional developments.

Authorities clarified that the advisory is purely preventive and there is no immediate cause for alarm. Officials noted that the nearest nuclear reactor is located over 240 kilometres away from Kuwait, a distance that significantly reduces the risk of any direct impact.

However, as a safety measure, residents have been urged to follow basic protective steps, including limiting outdoor exposure and ensuring homes remain properly sealed to prevent any potential contamination.

The government emphasised that the guidelines are part of standard preparedness protocols aimed at safeguarding public health and ensuring readiness in case of any unforeseen situation.
