Union Minister J.P. Nadda Meets Global Chemical Industry Leaders, Discusses Investment and Innovation Opportunities in India

New Delhi: Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare and Chemicals and Fertilizers J.P. Nadda held discussions with senior executives of leading global companies on the sidelines of the Global CEO Roundtable on Chemicals & Petrochemicals, focusing on their presence, future investment plans and opportunities to strengthen India’s manufacturing ecosystem.

Nadda met Koji Wada, Managing Director, FUJIFILM India; John D. Romano, CEO, Tronox; and Alexander Gerding, Managing Director, BASF India Limited and Head of BASF Group Companies in India.

The discussions covered the companies’ existing operations in India and their future plans, along with opportunities for greater investment, technology adoption and innovation in the country.

The Union Minister also highlighted the government’s efforts to create a conducive environment for businesses and facilitate greater industry participation in India’s growth journey.

Nadda reiterated the government’s commitment to supporting industry and developing a competitive, innovation-driven and investor-friendly ecosystem that can accelerate manufacturing and attract greater global investment.

The engagement assumes significance as India seeks to expand its domestic manufacturing capabilities and strengthen its position as a competitive destination for global companies across the chemicals, petrochemicals, healthcare and advanced technology sectors.
