Gurugram : With only six days remaining for the completion of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR)-2026 campaign across Haryana, Chief Electoral Officer A. Srinivas has directed officials to speed up the process and work on a mission mode to ensure timely completion of all tasks.
Reviewing the progress of the campaign in Gurugram, the Chief Electoral Officer issued necessary directions regarding the collection, digitisation, and uploading of enumeration forms. He emphasised that maintaining an accurate, error-free, and updated electoral roll is essential for strengthening the democratic process.
He stressed that no eligible citizen should be deprived of the opportunity to get their name included in the voter list or to make necessary corrections in their details during the revision exercise.
The review meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner and District Election Officer Uttam Singh, Electoral Registration Officers, Assistant Electoral Registration Officers, and other concerned officials.
BLOs Directed to Intensify Door-to-Door Outreach
During the meeting, DC and District Election Officer Uttam Singh briefed the Chief Electoral Officer about the progress of the campaign. He informed that in all four assembly constituencies of Gurugram district, Booth Level Officers (BLOs) are conducting door-to-door visits as per the scheduled programme, distributing enumeration forms and collecting necessary information from voters.
Chief Electoral Officer A. Srinivas highlighted that Gurugram, being a major urban district, has a large population of working professionals who remain at workplaces during weekdays. Therefore, he instructed BLOs to especially intensify their door-to-door outreach on Saturdays and Sundays to ensure maximum coverage of households.
Time-Bound Digitisation of Forms Must Be Ensured
A. Srinivas directed officials to ensure that every submitted enumeration form is collected, digitised, and uploaded on the portal within the stipulated timeline.
He reiterated that no eligible voter should be left out of the electoral roll and instructed officials to closely monitor the progress at every stage of the campaign.
Negligence by Officials Will Not Be Tolerated
DC Uttam Singh stated that all officials and employees involved in the Special Intensive Revision campaign are working with full responsibility and commitment to complete the exercise within the prescribed deadline.
He said that regular reviews are being conducted at every stage and all officers have been instructed to ensure 100 per cent compliance with the responsibilities assigned to them.
He made it clear that any negligence, irregularity, or delay in the execution of the campaign will not be tolerated. Strict action will be taken against officials or employees found guilty of dereliction of duty.
Appeal to Eligible Voters to Submit Forms Before July 14 Deadline
Chief Electoral Officer A. Srinivas appealed to all eligible voters to submit their completed enumeration forms to the concerned BLOs before the final deadline of July 14.
He urged citizens not to wait until the last moment and submit their forms at the earliest so that timely digitisation and uploading can be completed. This will also provide sufficient time for correcting any errors or missing details, if required.
He further stated that if any voter has not yet been contacted by the concerned BLO due to any reason, they should proactively approach their respective polling station or BLO and submit the required form.
He emphasised that the success of the Special Intensive Revision campaign depends on the active participation of both the administration and citizens.
