New Delhi : India’s External Affairs Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar has arrived in Kuwait for a series of official engagements aimed at further strengthening the close and longstanding partnership between India and Kuwait. Upon his arrival, Dr. S. Jaishankar received a warm welcome from Hamad Sulaiman Mishaan Al-Mishaan, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kuwait.
Expressing his gratitude for the reception, Dr. Jaishankar thanked the Kuwaiti leadership and officials for the warm hospitality extended to him. He said he looked forward to participating in the scheduled events and high-level meetings during his visit.
The visit is expected to provide an opportunity for both sides to review the progress of India-Kuwait bilateral relations and discuss ways to expand cooperation in key sectors, including trade, investment, energy security, technology, education, and people-to-people ties.
India and Kuwait share deep-rooted historical relations, with strong economic and cultural connections. Kuwait remains an important partner for India in the Gulf region, particularly in areas of energy cooperation and the welfare of the large Indian community residing in the country.
Dr. Jaishankar’s visit is part of India’s continued diplomatic outreach to strengthen partnerships across the Middle East region and enhance cooperation with key Gulf nations. The upcoming meetings are expected to further add momentum to the India-Kuwait strategic relationship.
