New Delhi : Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on his way to Melbourne, Australia, for the second leg of his three-nation tour, marking another important milestone in India’s expanding global diplomatic engagement.

During the Australia visit, Prime Minister Modi will participate in the 3rd India-Australia Annual Leaders’ Summit, a key platform aimed at reviewing progress and further strengthening the India-Australia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

Ahead of the Prime Minister’s visit, India’s High Commissioner to Australia Nagesh Singh, in an interview with Akashvani News, described PM Modi’s Melbourne visit as a significant moment in the relationship between the two countries.

High Commissioner Nagesh Singh said the upcoming summit will provide an opportunity for both leaders to assess the progress achieved under the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and discuss new avenues of cooperation in areas of mutual interest.

He highlighted that India and Australia have witnessed substantial growth in bilateral ties in recent years, with cooperation expanding across sectors including trade and investment, defence and security, education, technology, clean energy, critical minerals, and regional stability in the Indo-Pacific.

The High Commissioner also underlined the important role played by the large and vibrant Indian diaspora in Melbourne and across Australia. He said the Indian community serves as a strong bridge between the two nations, strengthening cultural bonds, economic links, and people-to-people connections.

The India-Australia Annual Leaders’ Summit is expected to further advance the shared vision of both countries for a stronger, more resilient, and future-focused partnership.

Prime Minister Modi’s visit reflects India’s continued commitment to deepening strategic partnerships with key countries and enhancing cooperation in the Indo-Pacific region. The Melbourne leg of the tour is expected to add fresh momentum to the already expanding India-Australia relationship.
