New Delhi : Former US President Donald Trump has once again reiterated his claim that he played a role in preventing a conflict between India and Pakistan. Speaking in an interview with CNBC, Trump stated that he intervened to stop what he described as a potential war between the two nuclear-armed neighbours. His statement is shared on social media platform.

Trump further claimed that his intervention helped “save the lives of around 30 million people” in both countries. He also asserted that the Prime Minister of Pakistan had personally thanked him for what he described as his role in “stopping the war.”

However, India has consistently rejected such claims. The Government of India has clarified on multiple occasions that the understanding on cessation of hostilities between India and Pakistan was reached directly through military-level communication between the two sides, with no third-party mediation involved. In the parliament PM Narendra Modi has also denied any intervention from any world leader in this matter .
