New Delhi : In a significant statement outlining long-term strategic intent, Mossad chief David Barnea has indicated that efforts concerning Iran are part of a broader, multi-phase approach rather than an immediate push for regime change.
Clarifying the objectives behind ongoing operations, Barnea emphasized that while the eventual goal remains the replacement of Iran’s current leadership, it was never intended to be achieved during the initial phase of active conflict. He underscored that expectations of a rapid overthrow during ongoing strikes were misplaced.
Responding to criticism, the Mossad chief noted that the strategy has been designed as a sustained and evolving campaign, extending well beyond immediate military actions. According to him, the current phase represents only one component of a longer-term plan aimed at shaping outcomes over time.
He further reiterated that the commitment to this objective remains firm, suggesting that efforts will continue through multiple stages until broader strategic goals are realized.
The remarks point to a calculated, phased doctrine, indicating that developments surrounding Iran are likely to unfold over an extended period rather than through swift or singular actions.
