PM Modi, President Trump Hold Call ; Reaffirm Comprehensive Strategic Partnership

New Delhi : Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a telephonic conversation with US President Donald Trump, during which the two leaders reviewed the steady progress made in strengthening bilateral ties across multiple sectors.

The discussion highlighted the growing depth of the India–United States Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership, with both sides reaffirming their commitment to expanding cooperation in key areas including trade, defence, technology, and strategic affairs.

Sharing this information on ‘X’ PM Modi said ” Received a call from my friend President Donald Trump. We reviewed the substantial progress achieved in our bilateral cooperation in various sectors. We are committed to further strengthening our Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership in all areas. We also discussed the situation in West Asia and stressed the importance of keeping the Strait of Hormuz open and secure. “

In addition to bilateral matters, the leaders exchanged views on the evolving situation in West Asia, expressing shared concern over regional stability. They underscored the critical importance of ensuring that the Strait of Hormuz remains open, secure, and free for international navigation, given its vital role in global energy supply chains.

The conversation reflects continued high-level engagement between the two nations, as they seek to further deepen their strategic partnership while addressing pressing regional and global challenges.
