New Delhi : Iran is reportedly permitting the passage of up to 15 vessels per day through the Strait of Hormuz, even as unusual maritime traffic patterns continue to emerge following the ceasefire.
According to ship-tracking data, several vessels transiting the Strait are deviating from the main shipping channel and instead navigating along a northern route closer to Larak Island.
Reports suggest that ships taking this route are moving through waters under Iranian control, where they are being diverted for inspection and clearance before being allowed to proceed.
The development points to tighter monitoring of maritime movement in one of the world’s most critical energy corridors, raising concerns over potential delays and implications for global shipping and energy supplies.
