New Delhi : Rajesh Kumar Sinha, Special Secretary in the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, on Monday assured that all Indian vessels operating in the Persian Gulf are safe and functioning normally.
Addressing a media briefing, he informed that a total of 18 Indian ships, with 485 seafarers on board, are currently deployed in the region, with no maritime incidents reported in the past 24 hours.
Highlighting ongoing energy supply movements, Sinha noted that two LPG carriers—BW TYR and BW ELM—carrying a combined cargo of 94,000 metric tonnes, have successfully crossed the strategically significant Strait of Hormuz and are now on their way to India.
He further emphasised that ports across various states are operating efficiently without congestion, ensuring smooth maritime logistics. The government, he added, continues to maintain uninterrupted shipping operations and secure energy supply chains amid evolving global conditions.
