New Delhi : The Central Board of Secondary Education has postponed Class 10 and Class 12 board examinations in several West Asian countries due to the escalating security situation in the region amid tensions involving Iran, Israel, and the United States.
The decision was confirmed by the Embassy of India in Muscat, which shared an official circular issued by CBSE on the social media platform X. The announcement informed students and parents about the changes in the CBSE board exam schedule in Gulf countries.
According to the circular, the postponement affects CBSE-affiliated schools in Bahrain, Iran, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates.
The CBSE Class 10 board exams were originally scheduled to be conducted between March 7 and March 11. However, examinations that were planned for March 2, March 5, and March 6 have already been cancelled due to the prevailing situation.
The board also stated that details regarding the announcement of results for CBSE Class 10 students in West Asia will be released separately at a later stage.
Meanwhile, Class 12 board examinations scheduled for Saturday have also been postponed. The education board clarified that new dates for the postponed examinations will be announced after reviewing the regional situation.
CBSE further stated that it will review the security situation on March 7 and issue fresh instructions regarding the exams scheduled to be conducted from March 9 onward.
The board has advised Class 12 students in Gulf countries to stay in regular contact with their respective schools and follow official CBSE notifications for updates regarding the revised exam schedule.
Students and parents have also been urged to avoid relying on unofficial information or rumors circulating on social media and instead depend only on verified updates issued by CBSE and school authorities.
