New Delhi : The 9th International Exhibition & Conference on Agri-Machinery, Equipment & Agri-tech Solutions – EIMA Agrimach India 2025 concluded today at the IARI Ground, Pusa, New Delhi, with a focus on promoting green-fuel based mechanisation and gender-friendly agricultural equipment. The three-day event, held from 27–29 November 2025, was jointly organized by FICCI and Italian agriculture body FederUnacoma, in association with the Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, Government of India.

The exhibition attracted over 20,000 farmers, primarily from Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, and Odisha, alongside 4,000 domestic dealers and distributors, 180+ domestic and foreign companies, and 100+ international buyers from countries including Algeria, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Kenya, Oman, Malaysia, Morocco, Nigeria, Uganda, Vietnam, Zimbabwe, South Korea, and Thailand. Italy was the Partnering Country, with participation from the Netherlands, Japan, USA, and Poland.

The event showcased a wide range of modern agricultural machinery aimed at improving productivity and efficiency for Indian farmers, while providing a platform for collaboration between domestic and international players across the agricultural value chain.

Delivering the keynote address, Dr. Devesh Chaturvedi, Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, emphasized the need for green-fuel mechanisation, including electric tractors and machines powered by compressed biogas (CBG), to reduce operational costs and maintenance for farmers. He urged Italian industry partners to collaborate in this transition.

Dr. Chaturvedi also highlighted the importance of gender-friendly farm equipment to reduce the drudgery of women farmers, noting that 2026 has been declared the International Year of Women Farmers by the UN. “Policy makers must focus not only on ownership but on designing equipment that genuinely reduces workload, whether manual or motorized,” he said.

Antonio Bartoli, Ambassador of Italy to India, expressed hope to soon have an agriculture attache in the Italian Embassy to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the agricultural sector.

Anbalagan P., Joint Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, lauded the event’s success, citing the participation of large numbers of farmers, domestic and foreign companies, dealers, and distributors.

T.R. Kesavan, Chairman of the Organizing Committee and Board Director & Group President, TAFE, stressed promoting agriculture as a service, noting that mechanisation could be offered as a service to farmers to make equipment like seeders more accessible and affordable.

Highlighting future India-Italy collaboration, Ms. Simona Rapastella, Director General, FederUnacoma, cited a report projecting the Indian agricultural machinery market to grow from USD 13.7 billion in 2023 to USD 31.6 billion by 2033, with an annual growth rate of 9%.

Subroto Geed, Co-Chairman, FICCI National Agriculture Committee, emphasized that modern mechanisation and access to high-quality inputs are essential for securing India’s food future and building a resilient agricultural system.

During the event, FICCI-PwC’s report ‘Farm Mechanisation: The Path Towards a Future-Ready India’ was also released. Ms. Sabrina Mangialavori, Deputy Trade Commissioner, Italian Trade Agency, noted the growing adoption of modern mechanical solutions in India, covering tillage, sowing, irrigation, crop protection, and threshing.

The 10th edition of EIMA Agrimach is scheduled to be held in Italy next year.
