New Delhi/Patna : The grand festival of democracy has concluded in Bihar. The record 67.13% voter turnout in the two-phase Bihar Assembly elections, held on November 6th and 11th, surprised everyone. Similarly, this state with a population of 243 million has demonstrated its political maturity, ending the suspense over who will form the government. The claims of the Grand Alliance have been proven baseless in the storm of the NDA alliance led by PM Modi and CM Nitish Kumar.

Under the leadership of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, the NDA appears poised to easily surpass the majority mark. While the JD(U) alone is leading in 76 seats, the BJP has 84, Chirag Paswan’s LJP(RV) has 23, and Jitan Ram Manjhi’s HAM has 4. Overall, the NDA is leading in 190+ seats, far exceeding the required majority of 122. Nitish Kumar’s chances of becoming Chief Minister once again have increased. If he is reelected, this will be his fifth term.

The vote count trends so far show the Grand Alliance, comprising the RJD, Congress, VIP, and Left parties, losing hope. Despite being the largest party, Tejashwi Yadav’s RJD appears poised to win just 34 seats, while Congress is leading in just six. The Grand Alliance appears poised to win a total of 48-55 seats.
