Complete ban on BS-III and BS-IV diesel vehicles effective immediately
Temporary exemption for non-BS-VI vehicles for supply of essential goods until October 31, 2026
Gurugram : To control the increasing air pollution in Delhi-NCR, the Haryana Transport Commissioner’s office has issued an important order. From November 1, 2025, entry of all transport and commercial goods vehicles (light, medium, and heavy vehicles) into Delhi will be completely prohibited. Only BS-VI compliant diesel, CNG, LNG, or electric vehicles and vehicles registered in Delhi will be permitted.
Gurugram District Transport Officer and Secretary, Regional Transport Authority, Paramjeet Chahal, stated that a complete ban on BS-III and BS-IV diesel vehicles has been implemented with immediate effect. This rule will be equally effective in Delhi as well as all NCR districts of Haryana.
In view of the serious situation of air pollution, non-BS-VI vehicles carrying essential commodities like milk, vegetables, medicines etc. and providing essential services have been given temporary exemption till 31 October 2026. After this, only CNG, LNG, electric or BS-VI diesel vehicles will be allowed to supply essential goods and services.
Paramjeet Chahal has appealed to all vehicle owners, transport operators, logistics agencies and enforcement officers to strictly follow these rules so that air quality in the NCR region can be improved and citizens can get clean air environment.
