– Strict action continues against defaulters, 17 properties sealed, campaign to intensify in the coming days
Gurugram : Gurugram Municipal Corporation has collected property tax of over ₹261 crore so far in the current financial year 2025-26. The Municipal Administration aims to increase this amount even more rapidly in the coming months. Clear instructions have been issued to the tax branch officials to ensure no laxity in property tax collection.
Municipal Commissioner Pradeep Dahiya gave this information on Wednesday in a virtual meeting chaired by Vikas Gupta, Commissioner and Secretary of the Haryana Urban Local Bodies Department. He stated that strict action is being taken against tax defaulters. So far, 17 properties have been sealed, which had tax dues of crores of rupees. The Municipal Commissioner stated that the sealing drive will be intensified in the coming days to ensure tax collection from all delinquent property owners.
Data Correction Camps Increasing Transparency
The Municipal Corporation is organizing special camps in various areas to ensure accurate and up-to-date property tax data. In these camps, tax data correction is being carried out on the spot with the assistance of councilors and RWA representatives. The Municipal Commissioner stated that citizens are being encouraged to self-certify their tax data, thereby increasing transparency and public participation in the tax collection process.
Gurugram to be Stray Cattle Free by December 31
Regarding the Stray Cattle Free Campaign, it was informed at the meeting that the campaign is ongoing and Gurugram will be made stray cattle-free by December 31. The target for this campaign is November 30 for Farrukhnagar, Sohna, and Pataudi, and December 31 for the MCG area. Instructions were given at the meeting to ensure that main roads are made stray cattle-free first.
Other schemes were also reviewed
The meeting also reviewed the progress of property certificate distribution in the Lal Dora area, the Svanidhi Se Samriddhi Yojana, the Haryana City Cleanliness Campaign, the Harpath Portal, and the Mhari Sadak Portal. Officials were instructed to ensure that the targets of all schemes are met within the stipulated timeframe and that services are provided to the public in a timely manner.
