Gurugram : Like every year, the Haryana government will celebrate Haryana Day with great enthusiasm, joy, and excitement. A grand and dignified district-level program will be organized on November 1st at the Gurugram district headquarters. Spectacular cultural performances based on Haryanvi folk arts will be the highlight of the program. In the same sequence, the district-level Geeta Mahotsav will be successfully organized from November 29th to December 1st. DC Ajay Kumar held a meeting with officials on Wednesday regarding Haryana Day and Geeta Mahotsav. Earlier, Haryana Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi briefed all the DCs and concerned officials of the state via video conference (VC) regarding the preparations for the Haryana Day and Geeta Mahotsav events and provided necessary guidelines. During the virtual meeting, Principal Secretary Arun Kumar Gupta, Commissioner and Secretary of the Information, Public Relations, Language and Culture Department Amit Agarwal, and Director General KM Pandurang also shared detailed information about the outline of district-level programs to be held across the state.
Following the meeting, Deputy Commissioner Ajay Kumar informed that a district-level program will be organized at Gurugram University to commemorate Haryana Day. Students from the district’s universities, colleges, and schools will present spectacular performances based on Haryanvi culture. These activities will include group dances, solo dances, raginis, orchestras, and painting.
The Deputy Commissioner also informed that a state-level program will be organized in Panchkula on Haryana Day, with Governor Prof. Asim Kumar Ghosh as the chief guest and Chief Minister Shri Nayab Singh Saini in attendance. The state-level program will be broadcast virtually during the district-level program. He directed the officials of the concerned departments to ensure that all preparations for the program are completed in a timely manner.
Gita Mahotsav to begin with a havan (fire sacrifice) and conclude with a festival of lights
DC Ajay Kumar stated that, like every year, the Gita Mahotsav will be held with devotion and enthusiasm from November 29th to December 1st. A seminar on the Shrimad Bhagavad Gita will also be held on November 28th. Instructing officials regarding the successful organization of the Gita Mahotsav, the DC urged them to complete all preparations. The Gita Mahotsav will begin with a havan (fire sacrifice). Cultural programs will then be organized throughout the three days. The cultural program will be captivated by attractive performances by local artists, including those from schools, colleges, and universities. Various competitions based on the sacred text, the Gita, will also be held. Exhibitions will also be organized by various departments and social organizations during the Gita Mahotsav.
All district residents will run with national unity in the Run for Unity
DC Ajay Kumar stated that a Run for Unity will be organized on October 31st, the birth anniversary of Iron Man Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. Union Minister Rao Inderjit Singh will flag off the Run for Unity, which will start at 7 am on Friday from Tau Devi Lal Stadium in Gurugram, as the chief guest.
