Gurugram : To provide better sanitation services to residents and ensure quick redressal of their complaints, the Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG) has launched a new initiative. On Monday, Mayor Rajrani Malhotra flagged off 12 “Safai Saathi” (Sanitation Partner) vehicles from the MCG premises. Additional Commissioner Ravindra Yadav, senior sanitation inspectors, sanitation inspectors, and assistant sanitation inspectors were also present on the occasion. This initiative will further strengthen the Haryana Shahar Swachhta Abhiyan.

The Mayor informed that the Safai Saathi vehicles will reach the spot immediately upon receiving complaints and will promptly resolve issues related to sanitation, garbage collection, removal of dead animals, and other cleanliness-related problems. Each vehicle will be equipped with an Assistant Sanitation Inspector and sanitation workers to ensure on-the-spot resolution.

She added that citizen convenience is MCG’s top priority. Enhancing the speed and efficiency of sanitation services will provide much-needed relief to residents and take Gurugram a step closer to becoming a clean, green, and healthy city.

It is worth noting that under the guidance of MCG Commissioner Pradeep Dahiya, 77 new Assistant Sanitation Inspectors have recently been appointed. Of these, 20 have been posted in Zone 1, while Zones 2, 3, and 4 have each received 19 inspectors. This move will further strengthen the city’s sanitation system.

Additional Commissioner Ravindra Yadav stated that the aim of the Safai Saathi vehicles is not only to resolve complaints but also to encourage citizens to take responsibility for maintaining cleanliness. He further informed that the teams will also take action against those littering public places. A target of 200 challans per day has been set across the four zones.
