New Delhi :
The monsoon session of Parliament is going on but the Question Hour could not be conducted even on the sixth day of the session. Due to the strong protests and sloganeering by the opposition, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla adjourned the proceedings till 12:00 pm after only one question was asked again till 1 pm. Today, only one question related to the Ministry of Tourism could be asked in the Question Hour, while the opposition MPs, like last week, came to the Well of the House and kept raising slogans regarding their demands.

The Lok Sabha Speaker repeatedly urged the Leader of the Opposition and the Deputy Leader to make their MPs understand, but the opposition MPs stood with their placards in front of the Speaker’s chair and many times in front of Union Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat. The opposition was seen protesting inside and outside the Parliament on the issue of discussion on the Special Incentive Revision of Voter List in Bihar. Ultimately, the proceedings had to be adjourned due to continuous disruption.

On Monday, the first day of the second week of the monsoon session, as soon as the announcement of starting the Question Hour was made, the opposition MPs came to the Well of the House and started waving the placards. They were raising slogans in favor of their demands. Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla first allowed Dushyant Singh, who was elected to the Parliament from Jhalawar, Rajasthan, to ask questions related to the Ministry of Tourism in the Question Hour. Bharatiya Janata Party MP Dushyant Singh asked questions related to the Ministry of Tourism, especially about the steps being taken by the government towards zero plastic waste in hotels. He suggested incentivizing people in this sector to stop using plastic waste.

On the question of MP Dushyant Singh, Union Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat answered in detail about the schemes of the Central Government. Meanwhile, the opposition MPs stood in front of the Lok Sabha Speaker’s seat and kept waving placards and raising slogans. Union Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat tried to answer the questions of the BJP MP. He informed about the decision taken towards making the hotel industry environment friendly. He said that in this regard, provision has also been made to appoint environment friend and environment tourism friend. He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been constantly focusing on zero plastic. Initiatives have been taken in this matter as per his decision. He said that this is the reason why zero plastic waste was seen in Kumbh bath last year.

On the question of lack of skilled professionals in the tourism sector, the Union Tourism Minister said that in this case, arrangements have been made to train the youth as per the business through joint efforts of educational institutes, international hotels, state government and private sector and its results are also being seen.

Opposition MPs were seen waving placards in front of the Tourism Minister many times. Expressing strong displeasure over this, the Lok Sabha Speaker first asked the Deputy Leader of Congress parrty in Lok Sabha, Gaurav Gogoi, why do you not want to let the Question Hour run in the Parliament. He said that the opposition is disrupting the Question Hour in a planned manner, which is causing loss to the people of the country. While repeatedly urging the opposition MPs to go to their seats, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla pointed to the Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi and asked what is your intention behind disrupting the Question Hour. This is the highest house of the country in which 140 crore people of the country elect their representative and send him to solve their problems, but your party does not want to let the Question Hour run in the Lok Sabha for the last one week.

The Lok Sabha Speaker said that today in the Question Hour, there was to be a discussion related to four important ministries, which also includes the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Environment, Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Labor, but the opposition MPs do not want to discuss it. He questioned why postponing the Question Hour is a part of your strategy. He said this is not in accordance with parliamentary decorum. He said that the opposition MPs do not want to talk about issues related to the public. He expressed concern that this behavior of the MPs is not right.

Again at 12 pm the house resumed and spm paper of the important committees of different ministries had to lay on the table of the house.  Lok Speaker Om Birla came on the chiar and tried to initiate discussion of Operation Sindoor but opposition MPs were again in the well of the hosue and disrupted the proceeding.
