Gurugram : With the aim of strengthening and making the cleanliness system in the city effective, today Divisional Commissioner Gurugram R.C. Bidhan held an important review meeting with the Municipal Corporation officials in the auditorium located at the local Mini Secretariat. On this occasion, he expressed satisfaction over the progress of the cleanliness system going on in Gurugram. The Divisional Commissioner said that the kind of continuity, promptness and commitment being shown by the Municipal Corporation in the cleaning work is commendable. He instructed the officials to maintain this pace and work in a better manner. DC Ajay Kumar and Municipal Commissioner Pradeep Dahiya were also present in the meeting.
After taking a detailed report of ward-wise cleanliness system from the concerned officials in the meeting, the Divisional Commissioner said that cleanliness system is not just a process of show but a basic responsibility related to the convenience and satisfaction of the common citizen. He said that it should be ensured that the cleaning work is regular, timely and quality oriented so that the common man does not face any kind of inconvenience. The cleanliness of the city will be considered meaningful only when the citizens feel its direct benefit. The Divisional Commissioner instructed all the ward in-charges and HCS officers present in the meeting to inspect their area daily and ensure that no garbage trolley is empty or in unusable condition. Garbage should be lifted on time and regular cleaning of green belts, roads, streets and secondary points should be ensured. If dirt is found during inspection, the responsibility of the concerned officer will be fixed and necessary disciplinary action will be taken.
In the meeting, the Divisional Commissioner gave clear instructions to the officers to identify the bulk generators of garbage in the city and take strict action against them. He said that uncontrolled disposal of garbage by big institutions, commercial units or housing societies will not be tolerated under any circumstances. The Divisional Commissioner said that Gurugram can be made a clean, beautiful and organized city only with the cooperation between the administration and the citizens. He appealed to the citizens not to throw garbage in the open, cooperate with the cleaning staff and play a role in keeping the environment around them clean.
In the meeting, Municipal Corporation Commissioner Pradeep Dahiya said that in the coming time, the number of Garbage Vulnerable Points (GVP) may increase in the city. Keeping in mind this possible expansion, the Municipal Corporation has already made necessary preparations and the tender process related to it will be started soon.
Additional Commissioner of the Corporation Ravindra Yadav, ACUT Aditi Singhania, Joint Commissioner of Municipal Corporation, all ward in-charges and HCS officers, and other related officers were present in the meeting.
