-Settlement of more than 18 crores, large number of people benefited
Gurugram : National Lok Adalat was organized by District Legal Services Authority, Gurugram in the District Court premises. This Lok Adalat was held under the direction of Judge of Punjab and Haryana High Court and Executive Chairman, Haryana State Legal Services Authority and under the guidance of District and Sessions Judge and Chairman, District Legal Services Authority, Gurugram Chandra Shekhar.
Apart from 25 benches in Gurugram District Court, one bench each was constituted in sub-division Sohna and Pataudi, thus Lok Adalat was organized on a total of 27 benches.
Chief Judicial Magistrate and Secretary of District Legal Services Authority, Ramesh Chandra said that a total of 1,27,999 cases of all categories were taken up in the benches of Gurugram, Sohna and Pataudi, out of which 82,609 cases were settled on the basis of mutual agreement. During this period, cases worth more than Rs 18 crore were resolved.
One panel advocate was appointed on each bench, who assisted the courts and DLSA and contributed in preparing agreements between the parties. For the convenience of the people, a traffic help desk was set up near Gate No. 2 for payment of traffic challans, so that people did not face any inconvenience in issuing and settling the challans.
A large number of people participated in this Lok Adalat and got quick and amicable solution to their cases.
