NEP 2020 Promotes Skill-based, and Employment-Oriented Education : Dharmendra Pradhan

-Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan presides as Chief Guest at 9th Convocation Ceremony of Central University of Rajasthan

New Delhi /Jaipur ;  Union Minister for Education, Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, presided as the Chief Guest at the 9th Convocation Ceremony of the Central University of Rajasthan today. Shri Bhagirath Choudhary, Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Government of India; Prof. Anand Bhalerao, Vice Chancellor, Central University of Rajasthan; along with other distinguished dignitaries, faculty members, and students. were also present at the event.

While speaking at the event, Shri Dharmendra Pradhan congratulated the graduating students on receiving their degrees. He emphasized that the very essence of education lies in continuity and the convocation is not merely a conclusion but a significant milestone in the lifelong journey of learning. He reminded the students that this moment represents not just academic achievement but also a call to embrace their responsibilities in life and their commitment to nation-building.

Shri Pradhan stated that as India moves forward with a collective resolve to secure its place among the leading nations of the world, education will play a pivotal role, empowering individuals and propelling the nation to greater heights. In this context, he highlighted the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, which promotes a multidisciplinary, skill-based, and employment-oriented education system. He also mentioned that to strengthen global educational collaboration, foreign universities are now establishing campuses in India, with eight such institutions already operational.

The Minister praised the talent of Rajasthan, noting its consistent excellence in competitive examinations like JEE and NEET, which has significantly contributed to India’s academic progress. He remarked that the land of Rajasthan has long been a timeless cradle of knowledge, science, art, literature, and thought, a legacy that must be carried forward with a modern outlook and a spirit of innovation.

Shri Pradhan further noted that as India emerges as the world’s fourth-largest economy, it is essential to harness the innovation, skills, and leadership potential of the youth to realize the vision of Viksit Bharat by 2047.

He concluded by affirming that, in line with the ancient Indian ideal of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam, it is our shared responsibility to ensure that India not only serves the interests of its 1.4 billion citizens but also becomes a global provider of solutions for humanity.

A total of 1,693 students from Integrated MSc, BTech, BSc, and Diploma programmes were awarded their degrees at the convocation. On the occasion, several university infrastructure projects were dedicated to the nation, and the foundation stone was laid for upcoming facilities.
