The Chief Secretary said that the written examination of CET is proposed within a month. So far, about 13.50 lakh candidates have registered for this examination across the state, for which 1684 examination sites have been proposed. He indicated that the examinations can be conducted in 4 to 6 phases in two or three days, keeping in mind the number of candidates.
He directed all the District Magistrates to ensure physical inspection of the examination sites identified in their districts and all the basic facilities in view of the examination – such as security, drinking water, toilets, electricity, seating arrangements, and transport facilities – should be in place.
Giving information about the administrative preparations in Gurugram, SDM Paramjit Chahal said that 107 examination sites have been identified in the district, where about 40,264 candidates can appear for the examination. He said that conducting the CET examination in a copy-free, transparent and peaceful manner is the top priority of the administration.
District Education Officer Indu Bokan was also present in the district level review meeting held in this regard. It was decided in the meeting that a special district level committee would be constituted for the physical inspection of each examination site, which would include SDM, CID and education department officials.
The SDM directed that if any examination site has been associated with unfair activities in the past, or if it is located in a very remote area, then such places should be removed from the list and new, accessible and safe options should be chosen.
He said that all the guidelines issued by the commission will be followed completely. Extensive security arrangements will be made to maintain the secrecy of the examination. Apart from this, the police administration will be kept in alert mode so that there is no possibility of any kind of irregularity or disruption during the examination.
