DC Ajay Kumar directs Officials to Improve Bird tower Installation and Animal Protection Systems

Bird tower will provide safe shelter to birds, emphasis on strengthening animal care and health system

Gurugram : An important meeting of the district level SPCA (Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) was held today at the Mini Secretariat under the chairmanship of DC Ajay Kumar. In this meeting, detailed discussions were held on the care, management and rehabilitation of stray animals as well as the bird tower installation project.

DC Ajay Kumar directed the officials to identify stray animals roaming in the city and rural areas and take them to safe places. He laid special emphasis on ensuring proper care, health check-up, vaccination and treatment of animals with the help of cow shelters, temporary sheds and non-governmental organizations.

In the meeting, the DC informed that bird towers will be installed in two major cow shelters of the district on the initiative of the SPCA. The purpose of these towers is to provide safe shelter to the birds and ensure their safety and protection. He described it as an important step for biodiversity and environmental conservation in the district and directed the concerned officials to complete it on time.

The DC also mentioned that control over the open movement of stray animals is necessary to prevent road accidents. He directed the Municipal Corporation, Animal Husbandry Department and Police to take effective steps by coordinating. Also, all the departments were asked to do regular monitoring and submit a report of the action being taken.

DC Ajay Kumar said that both sensitivity and responsibility towards animals are necessary. All departments should work together so that an effective and permanent solution can be found to the problem of stray animals in the district.

ACUT representative Aditi Singhania, Joint Director Dr. Punita, Deputy Director Dr. Narendra Singh, Additional CEO of Haryana CSR Trust Gaurav Singh, SDO Dr. Surendra Sheoran, Veterinary Surgeon Dr. Nakul Dev Singh Yadav, Dr. Manjeet Sharma, representatives of various cow shelters and other senior officials were present in the meeting.
