– Inspected the ongoing work in Badshahpur drain and Narsinghpur, instructed officials to complete the work on time
Gurugram : The district administration is fully alert and active to effectively deal with the problem of pre-monsoon waterlogging. In this sequence, on Monday, DC Ajay Kumar conducted a physical inspection of the drainage systems in the district and reviewed the progress of the Badshahpur drain located near Hero Honda Chowk and the open drain construction work going on in Narsinghpur area. ACUT Aditi Singhania and XEN Vikram Singh from GMDA were also present in his inspection tour.
Cleaning work of Badshahpur drain in final stage
DC Ajay Kumar first inspected the cleaning work of Badshahpur drain near Hero Honda Chowk. XEN Vikram Singh informed him that the work of cleaning the silt of the drain, removing the obstruction and smoothening the water flow has almost been completed and this work is now in the final stage.

After this, the DC also inspected the open drain work under construction in Narsinghpur area. This drain is being connected to the main drainage system adjacent to the highway. XEN Vikram Singh said that this work will be completed in the next three days.
He also informed that there are three culverts built by the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) in Narsinghpur, through which fast drainage of rainwater can be ensured. After the drain is connected to the highway connectivity, the common people will get relief from the long-standing problem of waterlogging in the area. It is noteworthy that with the efforts of DC Ajay Kumar, the construction work of open drain was started on May 26 to connect the drain along the highway with Badshahpur drain at this place.
DC Ajay Kumar said that the district administration is making concrete and comprehensive efforts to make Gurugram waterlogging-free. He directed all the concerned departments to complete all the drainage projects within the stipulated time frame before the monsoon. Also, it should be ensured that traffic or life is not affected in any area during the rain. He said that our goal is not only to deal with the rain, but to give relief to the citizens. Problems like waterlogging affect civic amenities and the image of the city. Therefore, coordinated efforts are being made by the administration at every level. Also, the district administration is constantly monitoring the works related to drainage. The DC has also appealed to the citizens not to block the drains in their areas and cooperate with the administration.
