New Delhi : India has avenged the Pahalgam terror attack. The Indian Army, Air Force and Navy together destroyed nine terrorist hideouts in Pakistan and Pakistan Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (POJK) on the intervening night of 6-7 May. 900 terrorists of Lashkar-e-Taiba, Jaish-e-Mohammed and Hizbul Mujahideen were targeted at these hideouts. India has named this action against Pakistan as Operation Sindoor, on which the Indian Army held a press conference for briefing.
In the press conference, the army said that the army had reliable information about the targets, on the basis of which the operation was launched and the conspiracy of the 2008 Mumbai terror attack was also hatched here. Indian Army Colonel Sofia Qureshi said that special care was taken that no civilian became a target. Only terrorist organizations were targeted.
Colonel Sofia Qureshi and Wing Commander Vyomika Singh gave a briefing on Operation Sindoor. He said that the operation went on from 1:05 am to 1:30 am on the intervening night of 6 and 7 May. 9 terrorist camps were destroyed. Colonel Sofia said that these targets were selected on the basis of reliable information, care was taken to ensure that innocent civilians were not harmed. He said that if Pakistan dares to do anything, it will be given a befitting reply.
Colonel Sofia Qureshi said that Operation Sindoor was launched to give justice to the innocent civilians and their families who were victims of the horrific attack in Pahalgam. In this action, 9 terrorist camps were targeted and completely destroyed. He said that terrorist infrastructure has been being built in Pakistan for three decades. Recruitment centers, training areas and launch pads have been destroyed in the operation, which are spread across Pakistan and POJK.
Colonel Sofia Qureshi first gave a briefing about the terrorist organizations destroyed in POK. He said that the Sawainala camp of Muzaffarabad, which was destroyed in the attack, is 30 km away from the Line of Control (LOC) of POJK. This was the training center of Lashkar-e-Taiba, from where the terrorists of the Sonamarg and Gulmarg attacks in October last year and now the Pahalgam attack of 22 April had taken training from this training center.
Colonel Sofia Qureshi said that the Sayedna Bilal camp of Muzaffarabad has also been destroyed, which is the staging area of Jaish-e-Mohammed and was also a center for weapons, explosives and jungle survival training. At the same time, the Gulpur camp of Kotli was 30 km away from the LOC and was the base of Lashkar-e-Taiba. Colonel Sofia Qureshi said that this camp destroyed in the operation was active in Rajouri and Poonch of Jammu and Kashmir. The terrorists who attacked Poonch on 20 April 2023 and the pilgrim bus on 9 April 2024 were trained here.
In Operation Sindoor, Barnala Camp Bhimber, located 9 km from the LoC, has also been destroyed. Colonel Sophia Qureshi said that Barnala Camp was a training center for weapons, handling, IED and jungle survival. Lashkar’s fidayeen were trained at Kotli’s Abbas Camp and it had the capacity to train 15 terrorists.
Among the terrorist hideouts destroyed inside Pakistan, the first is Sialkot’s Sarjal Camp and it is 6 km from the international border. Colonel Sophia Qureshi said that the terrorists involved in the killing of four soldiers of Jammu and Kashmir in March 2025 were trained here. The second Mehmoona Zoya Sialkot was a very big camp of Hizbul Mujahideen, which was the center of spreading terror in the Kathua area of Jammu. He said that the attack on Pathankot airbase was planned and directed from this camp.
India has also destroyed the terrorist hideout where the 26/11 Mumbai attack was planned in 2008. Colonel Sofia Qureshi said that terrorists were trained for the Mumbai attack from Muridke’s Markaz Taiba terror camp. Ajmal Kasab and David Headley were trained here. This camp is located at a distance of 18-25 km from the international border.
Colonel Sofia Qureshi further said that Jaish-e-Mohammed’s headquarters Markaz Subhanallah camp was also destroyed, which is 100 km from the international boundary. It was a centre for recruitment and training and top terrorists also used to come here. Colonel Sofia Qureshi clarified, ‘No military base of Pakistan was targeted and neither is there any report of any civilian damage. Thank you, Jai Hind!’
