New Delhi / Shrinagar : On Tuesday April 22, terrorists brutally killed 26 tourists by firing indiscriminately at Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir. The terrorists, dressed in army uniform, first asked the tourists about their religion in the Baisaran Valley of Pahalgam, checked their identity cards and then shot them saying they were Hindus. Most of the 26 dead are tourists, while two are foreigners and two are local citizens.
About 14 people have been injured in the attack. At the same time, security agencies have detained some suspects late last night. Before the Shri Amarnath Yatra starting from July 3, the responsibility for this cowardly attack has been taken by The Resistance Front (TRF), a group associated with the Pakistani terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba. This is the biggest terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir since the Pulwama attack in February 2019. 47 CRPF personnel were killed in that attack.
According to eyewitnesses, terrorists entered the grassland of Baisaran Valley at around 3 pm on Tuesday. These terrorists started firing indiscriminately at the tourists roaming around the food shops and riding ponies.
So far, six terrorists have been found to be involved in the terrorist attack in Baisaran. The attackers included two Pakistani and two local terrorists. Information about the other two is not yet known. Sketches of three suspected terrorists involved in the attack have been released. Their names have been identified as Asif Fauji, Suleman Shah and Abu Talha.
Most of the 26 people killed in this terrorist attack were tourists. These include Shubham Dwivedi, a businessman from Kanpur in Uttar Pradesh, Bitan Adhikari from Kolkata in West Bengal, Sameer Guha from Kolkata and Manish Ranjan from Purulia district. Manish was originally from Bihar. The accused include Lt. Vinay Narwal from Haryana, Bharat Bhushan from Bengaluru, Karnataka, Manjunath Rao, a businessman from Shivmoga, Dalip Jairam Desai and Atul Shrikant Mone from Maharashtra, Himmat Bhai, Prashant Kumar Baleshwar, Manish Rajdan, Ramachandram and Shalindra Kalapiya from Gujarat, Samit and Yatish Parmar, Botan Adhkeri and Sanjay Lakhan from Bhagwanagar and Syed Hussain Shah from Anantnag.
