New Delhi : Haryana Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini said that Shri Guru Gobind Singh Ji instilled a spirit of living with courage and sacrifice in people by establishing the Khalsa Panth on April 13, 1699. He gave a new direction to the society by combining valor and heroic spirit with spiritual thinking.
The Chief Minister was addressing the Sadh Sangat at the Gurudwara in South City-1, Gurugram on the occasion of Vaisakhi today. On this occasion, the Chief Minister bowed his head at the Gurudwara and congratulated everyone on this auspicious day.
He said that Vaisakhi is a very beautiful festival, which is celebrated with great enthusiasm throughout North India. The festival of Vaisakhi is known by different names in different states. This festival holds great importance for farmers as it symbolizes the joy of ripening of Kharif crops.
Shri Naib Singh Saini said that Shri Guru Gobind Singh Ji had established the Khalsa Panth in 1699 on the day of Vaisakhi to fight injustice and tyranny. At that time the country was ruled by the Mughals. They were committing terrible atrocities on the people and they were being forced to convert. The society was divided on the basis of caste and religion. At that time Shri Guru Gobind Singh Ji performed such a miracle which no ordinary human being could do. He inspired people to make every kind of sacrifice to protect their religion and honor.
The Chief Minister said that while laying the foundation of Khalsa Panth, Shri Guru Gobind Singh Ji had included Panch Pyaras from five different castes and five different regions of the country. Then he ended discrimination by feeding Amrit to everyone from the same vessel. He never accepted discrimination between humans on the basis of language, caste and religion.
Generations sacrificed to protect humanity
Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji himself, his father Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, Mata Gujri Ji and their four sons were martyred while protecting humanity. Thus, the example of sacrifice of three generations of the same family is rarely found in the history of the world.
The Chief Minister said that many events of our history are also associated with the festival of Vaisakhi. On 13 April 1919, General Dyer had ruthlessly shot dead peace-loving citizens in Jallianwala Bagh, Amritsar. This massacre made the freedom fighters more committed to take revenge from the British government, due to which the country got independence on 15 August 1947.
The Chief Minister said that today the whole country is paying its tribute to the great martyrs of Jallianwala Bagh. On this occasion, he paid his tribute to the martyrs of Jallianwala Bagh on behalf of the people of Haryana and the Government of Haryana.
