Chandigarh, March 24 : An Ultra-Modern Fire Station will be established in the Municipal Corporation area of Panipat at a cost of Rs 17.85 crore. Haryana Chief Minister Sh. Nayab Singh Saini approved contracts totaling Rs 109.30 crore during the meeting of the High-Powered Works Committee (HPWC) held under his chairmanship today. Negotiations with various bidders during the meeting resulted in a significant cost saving of Rs 6.92 crore.
Haryana Urban Local Bodies Minister Sh Vipul Goel was also present in the meeting.
Approval was also given for the installation of new LEDs and the replacement of existing street lights with energy-efficient LED street lights, along with a Centralized Control and Monitoring System (CCMS) Panel for a smart lighting system in Yamunanagar, at a cost of Rs 16.50 crore. Additionally, the implementation of a smart street light system within the limits of the Municipal Corporation of Ambala, which includes replacing conventional street lights and installing new LED luminaires integrated with the Centralized Control and Monitoring System (CCMS), was approved at a cost of Rs 14.70 crore.
Likewise, the strengthening of the road from Meerut Road to Udham Singh Chowk via Community Centre, Sector-9, and the market area (Meerut Road to Sai Mandir and Chowk, Sai Mandir to Noor Mahal Chowk and Chowk, Noor Mahal Chowk to Udham Singh Chowk, and Udham Singh Chowk to Community Centre) under the Municipal Corporation of Karnal, at a cost of Rs 7.90 crore, was also approved.
The meeting also approved the construction of hostel blocks for the Hockey Stadium at Kailash, Karnal, on an EPC mode under the Smart City Mission, at a cost of Rs 13.25 crore. Additionally, the development of two collateral roads—Shani Mandir Road and Sector-28 Main Road—under the Smart City Project in Faridabad, at a cost of Rs 18.10 crore, was approved. Furthermore, the construction of various streets and drains in the Municipal Council of Palwal area, at a cost of Rs 9.93 crore, and the construction of an IPB street along with drain in the newly regularized Colony-154 in Wards 20 and 21 of the Municipal Council, Hodal, at a cost of Rs 11.07 crore, were also approved.
The Chief Minister directed that all works be completed within the prescribed time frame, adding that any delays would hold the concerned contractor and officers accountable. He also emphasized the need to ensure the use of quality materials in construction, making it clear that quality would not be compromised under any circumstances.
Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Sh Arun Kumar Gupta, Commissioner and Secretary Urban Local Bodies Department Sh Vikas Gupta, Commissioner and Chief Engineer of concerned Municipal Corporation and other senior officers of the Urban Local Bodies department were also present in the meeting.
